- Level One Inspection
- This is a visual twenty five point structural inspection.This inspection can be done if the chimney is clean. After this inspection, one can be reasonably knowledgable as to the general conditions of the structure and it's expected performance.
- Level Two Inspection
- This inspection is not the conventional inspection. It is an extensive process that explores in great detail the chimney structure--inside and out.Often use of video cameras/ and other technologies that measure draft are utilized.When needed smoke candles are used to check leakage. This inspection is often when problems are multiple,structures are aged/ damaged.
- Cleaning (DRY)
- This is a process of using proper techniques, properly high filtered vacumn, and brushes designed for the unique style and type of the heating system (masonry fireplace, pre-fab fireplace, woodstove, cookstove, pizza oven,coal stove/furnace, or exhaust chimney for conventional heating systems. This is the most common type of cleaning.
- Cleaning (Chemical)
- This is a multiple procedure cleaning that entails a pre-dry cleaning; appplication of very potent chemicals, that soak for a number of hours and is then cleaned with mechanical devices; and concluded with a dry clean. When "CREOSOTE" is in a third degree formation, this cleaning is recommended.
- Firebox Repair
- After continous use, the refractory bricks become loose or broken. Often the firebricks can be extracted or the mortar can be replaced. This process is a short term remedy and is a preventive measure.
